A DPDP Act briefing for the board and senior leaders
A short session that turns the law into decisions: what to fund, who owns it and what to do first.
In short
A DPDP Act leadership briefing is a 60 to 90 minute live session that turns the law into decisions for the board and senior leaders. It covers what is in force and what is scheduled for 13 November 2026 and 13 May 2027, who owns DPDP Act work, and what to fund in the next 90 days. Only a Significant Data Fiduciary must appoint a DPO, but every organisation needs a named contact.
Need your board and leaders aligned?
A focused briefing on decisions, budgets, vendors and penalties. We call you first, and nothing is shared until you agree.
Book a leadership briefing for my board →Who it is for
CEOs, founders, board members, CFOs, COOs and heads of business, technology, HR and legal. They do not need the detail of every section. They need to know where the exposure is and what to decide.
Typical length
60 to 90 minutes, live.
Typical output
A short list of decisions and a readiness roadmap with owners.
Best timing
Early, before budgets and project plans are set.
What a good briefing covers
- Dates: what is already in force and what is scheduled for 13 November 2026 and 13 May 2027.
- Where the exposure is: reasonable security safeguards, breach handling and children's data carry the largest penalties.
- Ownership: who in the business is accountable, and who answers questions and complaints.
- Do you need a DPO? Only a Significant Data Fiduciary must appoint one. Everyone needs a named contact.
- Vendors: which suppliers handle your personal data and what your contracts say.
- Sequencing and budget: what to do in the next 90 days and what can wait.
Questions to ask any provider
- Will a senior practitioner or lawyer deliver it, not a junior trainer?
- Is the content specific to our sector?
- Will you help us turn it into a roadmap, or is it a talk only?
- Do the dates and obligations match the official notifications?
What published options look like
| Format | Worth knowing |
|---|---|
| Leadership briefings for senior management | Some providers also sell readiness assessments. Some describe enforcement as already active, which does not match the phased dates, so ask for a dated plan |
| Customised live sessions, virtual or onsite | Ask for a short executive format, because standard courses can run 12 to 24 hours |
We have not yet partnered with any training provider, so we do not name any here. If that changes, we will name them and say whether we earn a fee.

How we describe providers
We do not name or rank training providers on this page, and we have no commercial agreement with any of them. If that changes and we earn a fee on a link, we will say so. Prices, dates and certificate claims describe what providers have published as of 30 September 2026 and can change, so confirm them before you enrol. Training helps your people understand the law. It is not legal advice, not government approval and not a compliance certificate. Are you a training provider? Talk to us about listing your programme.
